I’m actually getting really excited about the idea I have, though it still seems a bit too boring. It’ll probably get better when I start writing though. For some reason I often obsess over everything in the story having to be relevant to the theme or the message I try to convey – which often make them pretentious and gay (imo), so I wanna try having more story that’s just that (a good story) and not some ambigious dumb stuff. We’ll see how it turns out!

Just saw "The Descent". It was a horror movie. Here’s what it made me think:
Horrormovies, or the makers of horrormovies, seems to consistently decide to make characters unlikeable. It’s like they don’t want us to care about them being killed of.
Also, I got a hypothesis: For a horrormovie to be good, it would have to be good without the horrorelements. The characters and settings would have to be good enough to stand on its own.

I bought a tinbox with gingerbread cookies a couple of days ago, and I use this tin box to keep all of my cookies. Today I lost them all on the floor – and despite the floor supposidly being cleaned just today – they got kinda dirty. I threw away a handful of them and kept the rest. Good story.

Also I recomended Dear Zachary to the documentary-class, and we saw it. When it was done, the teacher (in tears) said that I’ll never be allowed to pick movie again. Most of the people watching (that hadn’t seen it before) started crying. See the movie, but don’t read about it, as there is a major(!) spoiler that you’d rather not know when watching it.

The short story is completed and handed in, so that’s good. The teacher looked at it, and I think she thought it was alright. She liked the opening, and how I mixed the "two storylines", and also how I got the marriage troubles of two generations in one short text. I was happy with the same parts myself, so I guess I kinda achieved what I wanted.

We’re writing short stories in class this month. We are to deliever one, but I’m working on two and I’m having a hard time chosing. They’re both in Norwegian so I ain’t gonna post no text bro but I can talk about them.

Oland: This is the one I have worked least with, since I’m not sure what I want to do with it. It’s mostly a story meant to be beautiful, kinda. It’s a girl that lives in a bus in a field between some mountains, and the bus is like a old white schoolbus-thing, and every day she is visited by a guy who comes with food,a nd the guy is beautiful and the two loves eachother, and he brings juice and crabs and the lay on the roof of the bus and talk and she tells him a story etc. etc. it’s really just a beautiful story. I wanted it to be in the mind of an old woman who gets one visist every day by a male nurse, and imagines it in her head as the most perfect thing, but I realised that it could just be a nice story without any hidden strings.

The other one is (on the surface) a story where a boy walks into his house and talks to his mom about how he ate snow, and now his stomach aches. Though it’s really about a grown man visiting his mothers grave, and admitting to her that he has been unfaithful to his wife, and that she wants a divorce. It’s pretty challenging to write. My first draft (that I talked to the teacher about) was way to vague, and she didn’t get it at all. I don’t know how much information I should give away.

Everything I write I imagine as movies, though, and I’d love to write both of these as short screenplays, however both of them involve children as actors, and that can’t be done by the filmclass in school here.

There’s tons of stuff happening all the time here, so I’m just going to mention some of it here. We’ve seen tons of authors reading their stuff, today we went to a one-(wo)man-show about Israel, which was really interesting and cool, but I was really tired so I had a hard time staying awake at times.
On Wedensday we’re going on a one-day cabintrip with a writing class from a different school. We’ve briefly met some of them before, and they seem like nice people.
We have one writing-task each month, and the one from september just got its critique from the teacher and the other students. I agreed with pretty much all of it. Mainly it was too hard to understand, they used the expression "too smart", but it’s really just me doing a poor job explaining it indirectly. When I explained it to them afterwards though they liked it, and was impressed by some of it. Two people got it though, and it felt really good hearing them explain how they got to that conclusion. Etc. I could probably talk way more about that session, but basically it was pretty fun and I realized that the text I wrote really has a potential.

I’ve gotten a bunch of close friends and I’ve gotten some great feedback on the stuff I’ve written (note that we really don’t write as much as we should), and stuff is really great. Also I have a beard now (no-shave-november) that people have been way too accepting of (I hate it). I might have to keep it (considering that people I hardly know here has commented on me looking good with a beard). It might be more that my jaw is ugly than my beard being pretty.

And I just got a new roommate too, due to a bunch of stuff that doesn’t involve me at all (nothing bad). I’m happy either way, since the new roommate is one of my closest friends here.

Finished this months text, spending the rest of the day putting together a compilations of the texts of everoyone in our class. It might not take that long, but there’s a big chance I’ll be doing it until nightfall. Won’t do it alone though, actually I’m just helping the one who is mainly in charge of it.

Just a lil’ update from me and my current situation. Have started on a new school (1-year boarding school for 18+ people). I’m in the Creative Writing-line. The other lines in this school are: foto, film, rock & metal, vocal-workshop, theater, design and fashion and art. So basically it’s a "school" for creative people. We came on sunday night, and haven’t started on the real stuff yet. The other people in the writing class (we’re 12 I think) are awesome, and I’m really excited about it. I’m slowly getting to know people here, but I’m still kind of shy (that is, I never sit alone for myself or anything).. These schools are very much about getting to know eachother, so the first few weeks are mainly concentrated on that. Tomorrow we’re going comping in a cabin for 4 days, so that’ll probably be all kinds of cool.

And I must say I love the diversity of personalities there are. I’ve made a promise to myself to not talk behind people’s backs while here, but rather embrace how special people are.

Basically what I’m saying is that I’m having very much fun (while still being really nervous all the time), and I think I’m gonna have a cool year and I’m happy about that

Quick update: Hey. Have been quite a unproductive day. The school choir started today (it’s obligatory, and probably pretty fun), we visited an old local church, me and a couple of people took a lil’ trip into the forest and I saw Pursuit of Happyness (not a typo). PEEF OUT

Quick update: Lost my cellphone today, though it’s probably somewhere in this building. The people here are awesome though, so I expect I’ll find it tomorrow. Saw two movies today I think. There’s probably gonne be a whole lotta movies this year. Considering watching another one RIGHT THIS INSTANT. Either Phantom of the Opera or a hella long Bollywood movie.
Phantom of the opera PROS: Prolly cool movie, love the main song, not hella long. CONS: I don’t wanna watch it as much as the other one.
The other one PROS: Prolly really good movie CONS: Hella long

Quick update: Checking in again for the night. I saw Phantom of the Opera last night (or, half. Saw the rest today). Brilliant film! Can’t belive she was only like 16! Was hoping that I could see that Bollywood flick today, but I ended up seeing half of Jurassic Park 3 (someone was watching it on the TV-room, so I jumped in), Tenacious D Pick of Desitny (other than the fart/weed jokes it was cool) and parts of a Jackie Chan movie (roomate was watching). I.e. people watch hella lot of movies here. Probably going to see it tomorrow!

Quick update:I love how some people are just really really nice and fun to talk to because it’s awesome and it really makes me happy! I’ve also gotten alot of praise for a short text I wrote and had to perform for the entire school, so I’m superproud and happy about that.
